question: Software update

Mar 13, 2014 16:10 PM

I just updated both my iPhone 5 and iPad Air. As directed I did the required syncs to my computer. Now I have duplicate photos on the Air but only the recent photos from the past weekend. I do not have the option to delete the duplicates either. Is this a new bug with the update or did settings change with the last iTunes update?

Hey Maribus,

Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like these duplicate items were photos that were synced from your computer. Synced photos cannot be deleted directly from the device, but rather need to be deleted from iTunes:

iTunes: Syncing photos

To delete synced photos and videos from your device

1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)

2. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.

3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.

Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."

4. Click Apply.

Thanks,

Matt M.
